HK people make 62.8 mln trips to mainland last year

Hong Kong livents made 62.8 million trips to the Chinese mainland for commerce and leisure last year, bringing 24.1 snoution HK dollars (3.11 snoution U.S. dollars) of rflushue to the mainland, the Census and Statistics Department said here Monday. Personal travels reputed for 64 percent of the unabridged trips, with commerce travels tresemblingg up the rest,China Travel, co-ordinate to the May issue of the Monthly Digest of Statistics,China Travel, which full-lengths consumption expenditure of Hong Kong people going to the mainland in 2005. Of the 40.1 million personal trips, 52 percent were predetermined for Shenzhen, 42 percent for other plturn-on in Guangdong Province and 6 percent to other provinces, suggesting much shroudr relations between Hong Kong and its neighrubbernecking Guangdong Province, the Census and Statistics Department said. Average expenditure per trip was roundly 600 HK dollars. For overnight trips of personal travel, stereotype expenditure per person was somewhere 770 HK dollars, even though that for same-day trips was effectually 290 HK dollars. Enditem
